What to Know About Timing, Coverage, and Communication

How Often We Visit

Visit frequency is based on your needs and your physician’s orders. Many patients start with more frequent visits to establish healing, then shift to fewer visits as the wound improves.

Cost and Coverage

Wound care may be covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance when criteria are met. We help confirm eligibility and explain any costs so you know what to expect.

Your Care Plan and Communication

Your nurse builds a plan around your wound type, home setting, and goals while keeping you informed at every step. If your needs change, we adjust quickly and coordinate updates with your care team.

Your Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of wounds do you treat at home?

We care for surgical, traumatic, pressure, diabetic, and vascular wounds, as well as burns and complex or slow-healing wounds when ordered by a physician.

Do you provide or order the dressings and supplies?

We coordinate the supplies your physician orders and can help arrange delivery. Your nurse will show you how to store and use them safely.

Can you use advanced therapies like wound vacs?

Yes, if prescribed. Nurses can manage negative pressure wound therapy, drainage devices, and other ordered treatments in the home.

How will I know if the wound is getting better?

We measure and document the wound, track drainage and tissue changes, and review photos or measurements over time to confirm progress.

What signs of infection should I watch for?

Increasing redness, warmth, swelling, odor, or drainage, fever or chills, and worsening pain. Call our team for guidance. Call 911 for severe symptoms.

Will you teach my family how to help with dressing changes?

Yes. We provide step-by-step instruction, written guidance, and safety tips so caregivers can assist between visits when appropriate.
